Our Story
In the spring of 1993, Todd and Stephanie Jorgensen were young, recently married graduate students. Stephanie was completing her final year of law school and Todd was in his last semester of business school. Graduation was but a few months away (hurray!) but they were growing tired of living off government loans.
Drawing from an experience the year prior, Todd dreamed of designing a really attractive "class" shirt for he and his fellow business school students. Perhaps by doing so, he could make some extra money and avoid more government loans prior to graduation.
With Stephanie's support, he summoned his creative talents and sketched out a rough draft of what he wanted to put onto a class shirt, found a local graphic designer to finalize the art, and began pre-selling hoodies and t-shirts.
45 days later, Todd had found roughly 600 buyers from the law school to the business school to the nursing school on campus. He asked himself "If I can sell 600 shirts to students right here, why can't I sell shirts to students everywhere?" Thus hatched the idea of making custom shirts for school groups all across America.
Today, CDI Sportswear sells shirts to school groups all over America from preschools to college university graduates. With over a million students served, it's easy to see why CDI Sportswear is the choice for so many of America's school groups.
CDI Sportswear is a family enterprise with a commitment to service, quality, and fun. Let's do some business together!
